Ardalia 2021

ARDALÌA is an IGT Terre Siciliane.

Its name comes from the original ancient Greek name of the village of Larderia, where the Tenuta Gatto vineyard is located. It is made from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes.

Crystalline and vibrant, it has an intense and consistent straw yellow color. The nose expresses complex aromas of fruit, flowers, and minerals, with a light herbaceous spiciness and abundant citrus notes (grapefruit, lemon, lemongrass, hints of tropical fruit, orange blossom, broom, iodine, metallic notes, pink pepper, sage, thyme, and wet grass). On the palate, it is refined, dry, warm, fairly smooth, savory, full-bodied, balanced, intense, and persistent.

Serve at 10-12°C in large wine glasses. Alcohol content 12.0%.

Pairings are recommended with even rather elaborate fish dishes, but it can also be paired with particularly rich and savory dishes. Recommended with mussels in pepper sauce or with "ghiotta di pesce stocco," a typical dish from Messina, as well as cheese and cured meat dishes.
