Chiano Conti 2014
Chiano Conti is the first wine produced by Tenuta Gatto. The vineyards are located in a hilly area at 400 meters above sea level and are trained using the espalier system with spurred cordon. The climate, influenced by the proximity to the sea and the hills behind it, plays a key role in the proper and healthy ripening of the grapes. Agriculture is based on the use of natural organic substances, minimizing the use of chemical treatments and performing green pruning, eliminating excess bunches and shoots to limit pest attacks and improve quality. Harvest typically begins in the second ten days of September. Vinification is carried out with a long maceration process at a controlled temperature. The wine is initially aged in steel silos, then placed in tonneaux for approximately 12 months, before being bottled for a further six months of bottle aging in our cellars before being released for sale.
